Each time I see these, my will to be thrifty and be practical crumbles. I had to fight the urge to buy new camera lenses solely for the purpose of capturing their beauty.

There is nothing wrong with buying a new camera lens right? So I know why you wonder why I’m making this as an issue. It’s because, I cannot use the maximum utility of the expensive camera lenses when I can’t even have enough time to sleep. It would be a total waste of resources. And I really don’t want that.

Besides, I have no way in capturing the sunrise when I am locked in a camera free office doing my work.

Do you feel me?

I want to create memorable sunrises and sunsets and I’m still banging myself on how to do that without having my bank to hate me so much.

But you STILL need to have access to the internet for this to work. When you’re office System Ad is stricter than the government and totally deprived you of any connectivity to the world wide web. Then pal, you better just make your done.

Here’s how:

1) Go to your Messages View & click on Claim your Facebook email link.

If you already have your username or profile name then it will automatically be your email address.

Example:

My Profile: www.facebook.com/dedalu
Email: dedalu@facebook.com

This confirms the email that will  show in your Message Views.

Once  set up you are ready to receive conventional email from people using Gmail, Yahoo! or Hotmail directly to your Facebook messages.

Enjoy convenience.

 To download your blog:

1. Login to your Friendster Account

2. Install the Friendster Exporter Application (http://apps.friendster.com/exporter)

3. Once installed, open the app and select the option to Download your Blogs.

4. Select which blog site you’d want to generate the XML file for – You can choose between WordPress and Blogger.

5. Authenticate the download – To verify your identity, you’ll be asked to enter your Friendster login again.

6. Wait for the .xml file generation to be completed – You will receive a notification when the .xml file is generated completely and ready for download.

7. Unzip the download – You have to unzip the file first and make sure it is in .xml format before you export. Take note of where you save the file.  Use trusted software like winzip or winrar to avoid compatibility issues.

To export your blog to WordPress:

1. Login to your WordPress account
2. Under My Blog, select Dashboard
3. On the left side, under Tools, select Import
4. Choose option to Import WordPress
5. Browse the xml file you downloaded from Friendster
6. Click “Upload file and import”

To export your blog to Blogger:

1. Login to your Blogger account
2. Go to the Dashboard
3. Click Settings
4. Click Import Blog
5. Browse the xml file you downloaded from Friendster
6. Click “Import Blog”

I copy and pasted that from Friendster Help. I spent too much time reading how to export my blog. To make you life easier, I had it here. If this is a homework or lab report, I am going to be done in 10 minutes. Haha. Conceited much?

The sudden popping out of old pictures in Facebook  has set me thinking for days why these people took the time and effort to upload all those crappy pictures.. oopss relax I wasn’t talking about your faces and how you used to look but I’m talking about the pic resolution!   I wasn’t able to figure that out and the answer came in very later.

I thought I couldn’t be arsed to do the same but after a moment of consideration I concluded that Friendster   has once been a huge part of my college life for me not to care. I was chiefly worng, I want all my photos, testimonials and blog on my hard drive stat!

I only have  less than 48 hours to cram and save all the memories I created since October 2003 to be deleted forever! I am halfway through migrating all my photos in my deNNie profile to my hard drive and will soon work on my deNsoi account. Gahh! Why didn’t I know sooner!

If you haven’t started yet, then I hope the steps below can help put your precious memories to safety.

You’ll need Mozilla Firefox browser to do the trick. So if you are like me who hates Mozilla, put that aside. Just uninstall the browser when you’ve finished exploiting it. Its not a crime.

I digress.

Here’s how read on my blog title;

1. Login to your Friendster account and proceed directly to your photo albums. If you want to do linger somewhere. That’s fine but if you want the job get done. Get your ass to your Photo Gallery.

2. Browse each picture in one of your albums. You don’t need to wait for the picture to load in the screen just click away that arrow button forward till you reach the last photo.

3. On you Mozilla Firefox menu, click Tools >> Page Info.

4. Click the Media Icon on top of the Page info window.

5. Look for Image Type files that starts with http://photos.friendster.com (If you click on one image link you’ll get a preview below so you’ll know which link to start saving)

6. Select all the images that you want to save. [Hold the Ctrl key and select the last of this link http://photos.friendster.com] But if you opt to see the preview of each picture at the bottom of Page Info window then you may.

7. Click Save As.

8. You will be prompted for a Directory to save the selected pictures. You can create a new folder by pressing the New Folder button.

9. Click Save.

10. You will see that your selected photos are being downloaded to your selected folder. Even if the download is not completed yet. You can still start doing the same to your other albums.

11. Your done. Congratulations.

Its not unknown to everybody that I don’t like any form of exercise. Basically, walking included. But like any other days, there are just thing we do what we abhor. I walked to San Miguel 60km away from where I lived and found out that the salon nearby was closed. I continued walking until I got to the last street in Apas but found no other salon that’s open that day. Surprisingly enough I didn’t want to hop on a jeepney on the way home. I strolled back on a muddy street with my feet soaked with dirt and my pants full of spotted mud, bought things I don’t need. Food that I don’t intend on eating soon but as long as my eyes laid upon it, it was good as sold. Luckily, all things I saw where cheap else I’m going to be so broke. FYI. I am such a junk hoarder. I like thinking that I need things or junks can be recycled but In truth, they would just be on my locker and never see the light of day.

When I got home the electricity is still not back on. I settled in my bed and is about to sleep when the lights turned on. Yay! Electricity was back, I had a very good timing. I went on Tumblr and searched photos of Nina Dobrev. I was so enchanted by her that I didn’t noticed I’ve already sat two hours pleasurely looking at her pics. Now don’t get me wrong, I am just a great fan. My viewing was interrupted when my friend chatted with an invitation for dinner and movie. I haven’t watched Pirates of the Caribbean yet or Thor so I agreed to go.

After hours of surfing the net I got tired and cancelled on the movie. But since I haven’t eaten and is quite hungry, I did not cancel on the dinner date. It was still set for 7:30PM-8:00PM, a good 45minutes minutes before I need to prepare. I was lying on my bed to take a 10minutes power nap when my phone rang. Not a call but a dropped one from this said friend. It scared the beejezus out of me because I at the verge of sleep and I’ve set the ringing tone to 5. I’ve asked him an hour earlier not to miss call me cause 1) I can’t read any message entail for that missed call 2) I don’t want to disturb my roomie because of a dropped phone call…

And then guess what, another missed call. Wtf! People are too dense. I got exasperated in no time because 1) obviously he again miss called after saying he would no longer do that 2) he is ridiculously early and 3) by doing it is making me hurry because probably he was already there.

A few insulting txts were exchanged before I decided to get up and be decent to show up. I still went even if I know that I am extremely vexed and don’t want to talk to people or put on my Orocan face just yet. So when I arrived in the resto I tried to act normal but my effort was futile. I was unable to make myself talk. So I paused and just looked around for a bit hoping to cool off.

Then my date got annoyed with my downright display of rudeness thus he walked out. I shouldn’t have come but I did because I thought I could control my anger and could still have a good night inspite of what happened but it took a while for me to rein on my temper until my friend was infected with my disposition. All was too late.

Nobody has walked on me yet. He was a first. I was insulted although I am aware that partly I have a fault on it but still.. I don’t like people who walks out on their friend. I don’t know about you but me,  no matter how exasperated I am,  I’ve never walk out on anyone. Either I stay and be silent or I become an ass. Do you think walking out is better?

I remained on my seat, transfixed my eyes on the menu refusing to acknowledge that I am alone and someone has just left me. For long minutes I stared at the menu until the waitress asked me what I wanted to have. I ordered a meal although all I really wanted was to go home, lie on my bed, listen to music and shut the world out.

When I got home and have eaten I thought I’d be alright. I should have cooled off but surprisingly I was still angry. I don’t want to sleep with it but I got so tired, I dozed off immediately. By 10:00PM, I was awaken by some dream I can’t remember then I was able to recall what happen earlier that night that my anger returned. I was so mad that I decided to cut my connection to this friend. That, with a running image on how I would execute it. I was so satisfied with the thought that in no time I was drifting back to sleep. Then, morning came and an apology txt was received. But being proud as I am, I stuck to what I’ve intended to do. I  said a ton of hurtful words  I am going to appear so bad but I honestly had a great satisfaction doing it. I felt better, it was like all my anger was vacuumed out of me. All I needed was to vent. He was gone but I didn’t feel any remorse instead I thought that sometimes, some people are like gray clouds, when they disappear its a brighter day!

Today, this seasoned traveler who has currently traveled 37 countries even before she’s 25 sent me a message showing an interest to join. I was caught up with her positivism. I was infected with the enthusiasm she showed in joining the photo contest and that made me pause to tell myself, “hey you’re selling yourself short!” I might just have a few shots that are NatGeo worthy so I went to my drives and began searching.

I found pictures of white sands, gorgeous island, rice terraces, sunsets and sunrises, etc. I have an arm load of nice photos. See samples below.

I know that there are days when we are bombarded with overwhelming numbers of emails to reply to, escalations to review, audit to give feedbacks to and so on and so forth.. again let me ask you, don’t we all?

we are here to work. it might be taxing and sometimes it really gets annoying but please get the gist. its our job to work on them. we are getting PAID to do them.

do you hear yourself? you are too whiny you make our heads hurt.

i have a very high regard of you but because of what you are doing, i can’t help but think that you know very little. that you are so incompetent that when you are faced with a task that you do not know how to tackle, you rant away! rather than keeping your mouth busy cussing or complaining day after day after day after day for all the same reasons why not try to work it out first and if the task gets too difficult why not try asking somebody who might be able to help you finish it?

but if you can’t handle that because you are simply unhappy of your job then I only have one word for you, QUIT!

And I can’t believe I am already past the mourning stage. I have cried a bit but twas okay, things happen. This happened. I am still going to be alright. Hopefully….

When we arrived in Tung Chung, the last station of the orange MTR line we waited for a long queue to get into the Ngong Ping 360 cable car thats linking Tung Chung with the monastery 6 hills above or ahead. There are two kinds of cable car cabins – the Standard Cabin (round trip ticket is HK$115 for adults) which is your usual cable car (metal-glass cage), and the Crystal Cabin (round trip ticket is HK$157) which just has a glass floor.We took the standard cabin because we can look down on our own we don’t need to pay extra to have to do that. Teehehe.

The 25minutes cable car ride offered the vast view of Hongkong Int’l Airport and the moss green hills below. It was stunning.

We got in so late in the afternoon and it was so chilly and foggy in the little town so we didn’t bother to look inside the shops or go inside the monastery to take a peek of the Golden Buddha somewhere. Instead we hurriedly posed for the cameras, smiling through our numbing purple lips so you’ll spend time getting bored while scanning the photos I will soon post.
